Wine Bottles

Recently I purchased some wine bottles at a yard sale for .50 cents a piece.  This is just one I have done.

1.  I began by washing the bottle inside and out.
2.  I used old book pages and tore them into pieces.
3.  Then decoupaged the pieces onto the bottle.
4.  Used stamp ink to darken and to bring out the texture.
5.  I sealed with a couple coats of decoupage.
6.  Then I drew flowers with leaves and painted them with acrylic paint and sealed again.
7.  I wrapped the neck of the bottle with cotton string and tied it off with a bow.

Kailyn's Wall

All little girls have things they want to keep and possibly display.  So what I created for her was her own wall where she can display all her treasures.

This is how I did it:
I started with 1x3x15 boards which I got from Lowes and had them cut them to size for me.

Then I painted them to look like this.

I then sealed the paint and added hooks, clothes pins (which I painted), and hangers to hang them on the wall.

Granddaughter's Room

I have to admit I have lived at my present address for almost a year and have not decorated my granddaughter's bedroom. Shame on me!  So for the next few months I will be posting some projects that I have done for her room.  I hope it will inspire some of my bloggers.  This week I have been busy, first I had to clean out her room where I had all my crafts.  I moved them into my dining room - don't like mess but it's one of those things you just have to do. Keep in mind this is on an almost no budget.

These are a few crafts I have done this week:

1.  New take on an old shelf I already had all I did was painted it a cranberry color them drew and painted flowers and added hooks to hang what ever a little girl would want.

2.  The pic of the daisy I painted it on a 16x20 canvas board.

3.  The lamp shade was an off white so I painted it black and added stripes that would go with her zebra theme.

4.  The two bottles are empty wine bottles.  I really liked the color they were so I added some stars and confetti which I cut out of b'day wrapping paper then I splatted them with white paint.

Shadow Box Frames for Kailyn's room

I bought these shadow box frames at a yard sale (of course) for $1.50 for all three.  Kailyn and I used acrylic paint and painted all three then I glued zebra fabric on the insert.  I bought the letter K and she painted it black and glued it to the zebra fabric.  I plan to put pics in the other two of her 9th b'day party. Like the saying goes one man's trash is another woman's treasure (or something like that).

                                      Love how they turned out!!

Tell me what you think.
